Thikanedars were the landlords who were directly under the state (here Mewar). Some of them were very powerful as in case of Mewar the Thikana of Bhinder was very powerful as it was the Jagir of Shakti Singh, younger brother of Maharana Pratap. Each thikana had many villages under them and thikanedar collected revenue from these villages and also maintained army of well trained soldiers for the service of the state of Mewar. Influence of thikana on state could be measured in the number of villages under them. Some of these Thikana's of Mewar are :
